Golf On The Monterey Peninsula

You've come to the right place for fabulous golf for all levels! Golf on the Monterey Peninsula affords many options.  For those who want the experience of playing Pebble Beach at least once, it is there for the taking. Of course, it is an expensive proposition, so after that round is concluded thoughts may turn to some less expensive options.  The Pacific Grove Links has to be the best bargain going, and the back nine will give you water views second to none.  Having reduced your average cost per round, a return to Pebble Beach (the area, not the course) may be in order.  Public offerings there include Spanish Bay, Spyglass, and Poppy Hills.  The latter is the home of the Northern California Golf Association, and NCGA members get a considerable price break.  If you are able to leave Pebble Beach courses with dignity intact and a few dollars remaining, the Bayonet and Black Horse courses located less than 30 minutes away at Ft. Ord will have you wondering how two courses with no water and not much sand can be so challenging.  Another venue containing two courses is the Rancho Canada Golf Club in Carmel Valley, and those courses have the advantage of being very close to the quaint and charming Camel-By-The-Sea.  Finally, I don't mean to slight other fine tracts such as Del Monte and Laguna Seca, or the quasi-public courses at Carmel Valley Ranch and Quail Lodge.  However, for many of us there comes a point when we have to move on to other endeavors.
