HAPPY Labor Day FROM CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA!

Best wishes for a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!  Hope you can take some time off to enjoy with family and friends.  Traditionally Labor Day has been the harbinger of summer ending, however, on the Monterey Peninsula our Indian summer is just beginning and is usually our best weather of the year.

The Monterey Peninsula had an exciting August with “Car Week” front and center mid month.  Thousands of people enjoyed the amazing cars displayed and there was something for everyone from classic cars, muscle cars, sports cars, racing cars, and cars that reminded us of our youth.  I attended Prancing Ponies Car Show August 18th as a VIP guest and enjoyed Breakfast at Tiffany’s chatting with all the fabulous women car owners who were showing their cars, and an amazing fashion show!

This incredible show was all coordinated by Chanterria McGilbra, the founder and executive director of Prancing Ponies Foundation, a non-profit whose mission is to “Create Women Leaders One Girl At A Time” working with low income women helping them to succeed.

Another fun event for a very good cause was the Hearts of Carmel CA Unveiling Reception 2022.  Delia Bradford is shown here in front of the Carmel library with the heart she painted named “The Morning Beach”.  Seven local artists painted beautiful scenes on 7 hearts that are displayed around Carmel-by-the-Sea and are being auctioned off.  Carmel Foundation, a non-profit for our seniors,  will be one of the beneficiaries of this fundraiser.  Click on the link below to experience this fun event

Congratulations from the Carmel Chamber of Commerce

The Carmel Chamber welcomed Zantman Art Galleries into their new location on San Carlos between Ocean and 7th (next to Wells Fargo Bank).  Their best selling artist, Pietro Piccolli, flew into town from Rome to attend the festive affair.  As an ambassador for the Carmel Chamber I had great fun taking pictures and chatting with the artist and other art lovers who attended the soiree.

Pietro Piccoli’s paintings are alive with color and light. “To Piccoli, the light is the most important element in each of his works”.  Come by the Zantman Art Galleries to see them for yourself – if there are any left.  Many Piccoli aficionados were purchasing his paintings at the opening.

Art enthusiasts arrived at the gallery to admire Piccoli’s new paintings. The high ceilings and natural light of the new location are perfect to display the array of fantastic paintings.

Pietro’s painting were of a number of different subjects . . . boats, landscapes, and even a number of flowers.  Not sure which was my favorite.  I loved them all!

Carmel Chamber of Commerce 2016 Luncheon, Carmel CA

June 10, 2016

Judie Profeta, owner/broker of Alain Pinel Realtors, Carmel
Judie Profeta, owner/broker of Alain Pinel Realtors, Carmel.  Awarded the Citizen of the Year award.

An amazing time was had by all at the Carmel Chamber of Commerce 2016 luncheon in the barrel room of Folktale Winery & Vineyards in Carmel Valley.  Jeanie Sumners of the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Board Chair,  welcomed all.  Assisting her on stage, Erin Clark of KSBW proved again that she is the best emcee on the Monterey Peninsula bringing levity and excitement to the introductions and ceremony.  Mayor Steve Dallas was introduced and he assured everyone the beach fires on Carmel Beach would return.

After a delicious lunch, recognition was given to members of the chamber celebrating their milestone participation in the Carmel Chamber from 5 years and up.  Twenty-seven businesses were recognized for 45+ years of membership including the Hyatt Carmel Highlands or as most of us refer to it, the Highlands Inn (one of my very favorite places).  Mel Bettcher, the Managing Director was there to accept the honor.

Recognition was given to Volunteer Committees and Staff and I was even able to stand up to get recognized as a new Ambassador to the Chamber.

The Spirit of the Chamber Awards are always the big prize and two Alain Pinel Realtors came home with two of the honors.

Judie Profeta, owner/broker of Alain Pinel Realtors, Carmel, was honored as the 2016 Citizen of the Year.  This is a  huge honor and reflects Judie’s great contributions to the community not only for the many boards she serves on, but her willingness to give to her community in so many different ways.  Judie gives endlessly to her community, to her agents and business, and to her family.  A class act.

All in all, it was a lovely event.  I met new friends, caught up with old friends and was able to cheer for my Alain Pinel associates.
