Carmel/Pebble Beach Market Report Q-1/American Dream TV

2NW Junipero & 3rd/ Sold, Represented Seller

Let’s talk real estate. We’ll first look back and then look forward to what’s to come. I’d like to share with you our 1st Quarter report for all of our different areas on the Monterey Peninsula and surrounding areas.

We started the year with a slow start – but then who wants to go shopping for a house in the pouring rain and windy weather. Not only weather, but high interest rates, economic pressures, and geopolitical concerns affected the market for the entry level buyers, move-up sellers, and luxury buyers and sellers.

Cautious – I think would be a good way to describe buyers and sellers during the first 3 months of 2024.

Now that we’re almost at the end of April, we’re seeing many more listings and purchases taking place. These are all good signs of a revitalizing real estate market, even though the interest rates have not adjusted down to where buyers were hoping. We are seeing many more sales, more inventory coming on, and listings staying on the market for a shorter time length. What will the future hold? These good signs show a positive shift in the real estate market. However, keeping it real, we have wars going on in Europe, a presidential election coming up, and everyday costs rising. Time will tell if this “spring buying season” continues to heat up and I’m guessing it will. There is a pent up demand of people who want to move and that’s what makes the “real estate world” go around.

Lifestyle, Community, and Real Estate

A real show focused on positivity and the stories of our neighborhoods. Are you ready for some positive media about our amazing community?

For those that caught my last post,  thank you for all your kind words of encouragement for my new venture as a new TV Host for the American Dream TV. The first segment was a lot of fun to film (however I was a bit nervous!). This weekend the  30 minute show premiered and is now streaming on the following platforms, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Fire tv, Apple TV, Roku, YouTube Movies & TV, Tubi. If you missed my segment in the last newsletter, you can see it below.

There was one part of the segment, that everyone commented on. It was my visit to Dutch Door Donuts. I never thought people would get such a kick out of watching me eat a donut!

I need your help!

The executive producer said specifically that they are looking for me to interview and share the stories of the biggest movers and shakers, innovators, CEO’s, philanthropists, creatives, and business owners in our Carmel/Monterey Peninsula area. I want to interview those making a positive impact on our community as the show is meant to combat negative media with real and positive stories. WHO should I look to feature on this show? Please email or text me with your ideas.

Also, for the real estate component, I’ll be featuring some of my real estate listings on the show which will get thousands of views. You must know someone who is thinking of selling their home this spring. I’d love your introduction.

Until next time . . . I love your feedback and if you know of anyone who needs expert real estate services, please let me know. I would love to represent some other great clients, JUST LIKE YOU!

“Car Mania” in Carmel ~ Pebble Beach ~ Pacific Grove ~ Monterey

“Car Mania” in Carmel ~ Pebble Beach ~ Pacific Grove ~ Monterey

After a year and a half of pandemic isolation, it was a relief for many to see “Car Week” return to Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula.  It wasn’t quite as full blown as in years past, but it was still an amazing week drawing thousands to see the incredible cars and enjoy the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.

Car enthusiasts arrived from all over the country to enter their cars in the various car shows, participate in auto rallies, attend reunions of their car clubs and go to auctions to buy more cars!  Then thousands more came just to view the unique vehicles and ogle the “Eye Candy” in all colors.

One of the most popular car shows was the free “Concours On The Avenue” which took place in downtown Carmel on the Tuesday of “Car Week” featuring sporting cars, hot rods, muscle cars, and luxury cars.  This car owner is polishing his beauty diligently preparing for the judges.

There are cars for everyone’s taste.

1934 Ford Sedan

Some of the cars were  sophisticated classics and some were WILD!

Our Carmel Realty office on Ocean Avenue was right in the middle of all of the action entertaining the viewing public with an Open House complete with refreshments.

What’s your favorite car?

1959 Porsche 356A convertible

Every car was identified by a sign on its windshield describing the car which was very helpful.

 What’s my favorite car?

1959 Chevrolet Corvette

I love this 1959 Corvette – look at this wheel!

But then Ferrari’s are pretty cool too!

The classic 1950 Chevy convertibles are pretty neat too.  OK, I love them all!

On Sunday “Car Week” ended with the piece de resistance, the Concours d’  Elegance – and elegant it is!

Wow! Love that color!

I didn’t go to the Sunday event, but this is one of the cars shown in a prior year when the Tour d’ Elegance would park in downtown Carmel on Thursday for 2 hours while the car owners enjoyed lunch in the park.

These amazing classic cars are something to behold!

In case I have now turned you into a car lover, put a week in Carmel on your calendar for next year and come and enjoy!

Real Estate as Usual, Almost ~ Carmel, Pebble Beach

Carmel and Pebble Beach Real Estate

After more than a year of Covid-19 restrictions, real estate is getting back to normal.  No more masks, booties, rubber gloves or hand sanitizers – and no more long legal forms for a buyer to sign in order to go in and see a property.  In other words, it’s not a chore to view a home for sale!

Broker tour is BACK and today was my first time back on the broker tour circuit viewing listings in Carmel and Pebble Beach.  It was a short tour – only 8 properties on tour in Carmel and Pebble Beach, but it’s a start.  The properties ranged from a mere $2, 079,000, a lovely home in Carmel Meadows, to a beautiful Pebble Beach estate priced at $28,500,000 with a breath-taking view.  Now that was some home, any takers?

So many of our clients come for the weekend, and stay for a lifetime!

Perhaps, it’s your time now!

New taxes for the wealthiest Americans? carmel ~ pebble beach

In a recent Inman News article it was stated that owners of luxury property are likely to see future changes in the tax code raising taxes on the wealthy.  These proposed changes are motivating a number of ultra high-net-worth individuals to sell before the changes take effect.

President Joe Biden is proposing these modifications to the tax code  as a way of funding the $1.8 trillion America Families Plan to help families with young children struggling with poverty.

Read the Inman News article below for all of the details.
